How to prepare for CAT exam?

cat1Needless to say, its gonna be very hard. But if you give your best, you may surprise yourself with the results.
Now the best material that I found along the road--
Quant Ability- Quantum CAT (very thorough & ideal for those weak in QA) + CL (short & exhaustive, exactly what u need 2 months before CAT).
Logical Reasoning - TIME (really very good, covers all the topics, CAT and NON-CAT as well, something that the CL material does not)+ Arun Sharma (really not that needed unless u still feel u are a bit weak even after 3 months of prep)
Verbal Ability-
  •  Don't ignored the flash cards & i request you PLZ DONT!!!

IN NMAT, IIFT, XAT, SNAP, antonyms & synonyms or "what is the meaning of the word used in the passage" inevitably comes, whose meanings are given in the flash cards. So it will essentially take u 15sec to solve 5 questions while your friends are still wondering what the answer can be, through trial and error.
  • Refer wren & martin from cover to cover. It really strengthens your grammar part & helps u develop almost a sort of sixth sense to the errors.

Plz do that along with the common book that EVERYONE does, Norman Lewis.

RC can only be improved ONLY by practise & you don't need anything specific for this. U can solve them from past year papers or CL material.
Data Interpretation- Arun Sharma+ Past year . It will test your patience, u will develop this habit of avoiding DI questions, whenever u see it. So PATIENCE is the key here.
If u do this rigorously, then by october, you'll be amazed at your reading speed + ability of picking the right questions. Plus coaching classes do provide u with tips like finding the KEYWORD for PJs, Reading the RC quickly, then going through questions, then again giving a read for greater efficiency etc---these tips are quite common & your teachers will groom you on this.
Your strategy should be completing these materials in the next two and half months thoroughly & then give 3 mock tests. If u see u are scoring 90+, then u r on the right track. If u see that u suck, then pick out the areas that are highlighted as ur weakness (mock test analysis does that) & go back to the basics. This road will be very testing but don't give up.
All the best :)
