Fall semester is the best time to start preparation for summer internship. 
  • During Fall Semester,
    • Prepare your resume
    • Review your resume from university career center
    • Review resume from Senior students who had previously done internship

  • LinkedIn
    • Add all details in your LinkedIn profile such as Summary, previous projects details, teammates, skills, courses you already taken and courses you are taking in currently semester.
    • Get recommendation from your professor
    • Tell your network to endorse your skills
    • Search for "University Recruiter at Company X" and send invitation to them.
    • Keep your profile pictures and cover photo professional.
  • From October to November,
    • Start applying on company sites
    • Collect all preparation material
    • Start to revise your concept of algorithm and data structures
    • Start coding
    • Practice on white board
    • Revise simple concepts of your favorite programming language.
  • From December onward
    • It is a time when you Google, Facebook,Microsoft  starts to give interview call from summer internship
    • Go to Glassdoor and get set of questions companies are asking during interview
    • Get idea of interview process from Glassdoor reviews
    • Make team with your friends and/or colleague and practice mock interview on blackboard
    • Find your weak points and practice more to improve it.
    • Find email id of recruiter of Company X from your LinkedIn connections and mail your resume them and ask for interview call.
  • Once you convert your interview call into full time summer internship, share your experience and review with others. It will very useful for other students. Help those who doesn't get interview call.
